I’m having such a bad day today, I’ve spent half of it in tears.and it’s only 2pm. I’m sat in college, waiting for my next lesson, and I’m very very hungry.. If anyone fancies a chat, please leave me something in my ask, I’d appreciate the cheering up! ♥
There are a selection of new items on Topshop this morning, as part of their Emerge collection*, which are a website exclusive and are created by 'KTZ'. I’ve picked out a few just as an example :)
The first item in this little selection is the 'Stripe Sleeve Faux Fur Hooded Jacket', and is described on the website as ‘a nylon jacket in blue, by KTZ, with black and white stripe sleeve detail and blue and black faux fur lined hood’. I have to admit it’s very eyecatching and unique and the stripes on the sleeves definitely make a statement. The entire jacket has a lot of character and has obviously taken a lot of effort to design. Although I wouldn’t personally wear this, I’m sure there are others out there that would love something like this. The second item is the 'Exaggerated Shoulder Faux Fur Coat'. The main colour is grey but it has a number of green and purple sections all over the place, topped with a hood and exaggerated shoulders, personally, there is a bit too much going on! Of course, it’s unique and that’s a good thing, but I’m not sure how this could be worn, or where you could wear a jacket that is so eccentric, unless you live in the North Pole or your name is Lady Gaga, not to mention, the £450.00 price tag is ridiculous! Finally, the last item is the 'Satin Stripe Peplum Dress'. This is the item I like most out of the collection, because I find it is actually wearable, perhaps not for an ordinary person in daily life, but for a special event/festival this would be a good choice, it stands out and makes a statement, but at £280.00, it’s a dress I am choosing to avoid!
A bit about ‘KTZ’ KTZ is a combination of designers, Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Bezovski - They specialise in cult streetwear with a feminine edge, especially 80s and 90s style. It is said that their latest collection is inspired by ‘tough girls and supermodels of the 90s.’
*Please note, items that are part of the Emerge collection are only returnable to the website and stores will be unable to refund these items for you!
I gained quite a few followers during in the night and I just wanted to say thanks! And also, if there’s anything you want me to post particularly, or any ideas, please leave them in my ask and I will consider all of them :) Thankyou!
I’m aware I haven’t posted for a few days, but I went back to college on Monday and it’s been hectic, I get back late and I’m stressed and tired and I really don’t feel like looking at clothes I can’t afford right now! In other news, I had a job interview on Tuesday, which I was unsuccessful with, but the pay wasn’t great anyway so I’m slightly relieved, so the search goes on! I’ve applied for about four jobs tonight so hopefully there will be some good news soon! Being back at college is pretty good, my timetable this year is great, I usually start college in the afternoons rather than at 8:00am so I’m really pleased I get to sleep all morning, but the only thing I’m enjoying right now is history to be honest :(! I’m really looking forward to my weekend, stress-free days spent being silly with my boyfriend and eating all the food his mom buys, yum!
I wanted to do a few evening dress posts while I have nothing to do, so this is the first!
I love this tunic in nude, it is very simple, clean and elegant. The lace bodice and the pleated skirt add depth to the dress, and the deep v neck back (Not shown on the photo) definitely creates a lot of character. It is a very beautiful dress for an evening out, I would definitely wear this with a pair of nude heels, and I’d accessorise with a sparkly clutch and some cute bracelets to make this outfit perfect! You can buy this from Topshop for just £38.00, just click here!
I intend to make this blog much more personal as time goes on, so I’ll start off by saying this: My name is Catherine and I’m a seventeen year old girl living in the UK. I am currently in my second year of college studying English, History and Sociology A Levels, I have a huge passion for writing and fashion, and to combine the two would be a dream. After college I intend to study Journalism at university and see where it takes me! On a much more personal note, I’m in love with a boy named Daniel, and I dream of growing up with him, moving to France, living by a lake, having ginger babies and just generally having an amazing life with him :) That is all for now, mwah.
The first dress is a green tea dress, also available in dusty rose and black/white, it is one of ASOS’s own dresses, it features a layered scalloped collar with a button through front, it has a fitted waist and is very feminine, I think the green colour is lovely, and the dress would look very cute with a belt, and tights, and also with some brown brogues or plimsolls. This dress is great for a summers day, and could even be paired with a cute cardigan on a colder day, and at £35 it’s great reasonably priced :) The centre dress is a party dress from ASOS, it’s mini and features a bandeau neckline and a contrasting bodice, which has pleat detailing and an empire line waist, and also, an all over floral pattern on the skirt. This dress is very pretty and would look great with a pair of white heels and a couple of bracelets, it’s more pricey, at £45, but still a very lovely, elegant dress! And finally, the last dress is a little different, it’s much simpler than previous dresses I’ve picked out, but it’s still very cute, it is a panelled dress and features a scoop neckline and a sleeveless design, it also has a fitted waist and a flared skirt. The dress is available in bright red, navy and purple, I chose the red because it’s very bold, and it’s very cute and simple, I think paired with either white or black heels, this dress would be perfect, and possibly even wearing it with a black belt around the waist would look great, it’s also £45, which again, is pricey, but I think this dress could be worn in lots of ways so it would be worth the money :)
These three evening dresses are from ASOS. The dress on the left is a mini bodycon dress by ‘RARE’. It features an asymmetric style and has a structured shoulder, with one chiffon sleeve, which has an embellished cuff. The dress is very feminine, and iconic, it is available in navy, purple and coral. This dress is very elegant and sophisticated, the embellished cuff is a lovely detail, and the overall style is very unique and beautiful, this is definitely perfect for going out for dinner, especially paired with a great pair of heels! This dress costs £39, which I find very reasonable :) The centre dress is another mini bodycon dress, this is ASOS’s own dress, it is a strapless style and has a lovely all-over floral print, and a lovely twisted detail near the neckline. This dress, again, is very feminine, but more casual than the first dress, I think this dress would be better worn on a night out, rather than to a formal meal, but again, it’s very beautiful and at £30, it’s quite affordable. The last dress is also a mini bodycon dress and is also ASOS’s own! Like the first dress, it has chiffon sleeves, though this time, the sleeves are split and flow down from the dress. It has quite a wide neckline and also a low v-neck back detail. It is available in cream and navy, personally I prefer the navy but they both look very elegant and it would look perfect with a bit of jewellery and some heels! This dress is around the same price as the first, at £40, which is quite a good price, and this dress is something I’d definitely wear!
These two graphic tees are, again, from Urban Outfitters, they are both £28 and very similar in style. I love the graphics on both tees, the first is more ‘boy-ish’, and would look great with some distressed shorts, tights and plimsolls. The top on the right is more girly, with the flower design, but then with a slight twist, as it has a black background, I think, again, this would look great just simply put with shorts, and could be worn on a summers day, but would also be great with a zip up hoody worn over the top when it’s a little chillier :) I’d definitely buy both tops, as they’re lovely
These two pairs of shorts are from Urban Outfitters, the shorts on the left are £45, they’re quite short shorts and are high waisted, they are a beautiful pink/wine colour and they are slashed and have a frayed hem. I think they’re really funky shorts, they look quite trashy but in a good way and they’d look great with a crop shirt and possibly even a pair of black creepers! I’d definitely buy these if I had the money, they look excellent quality and very fashionable The shorts on the right are alot more expensive, £80, but again, they have a very trashy look, which still look really beautiful and unique, these shorts are very distressed and quite ‘punky’, and I think the spikes down the sides are absolutely amazing. I love these but I’d be worried about spending so much on a pair of shorts, maybe if I won the lottery ;)
Dresses from Urban Outfitters I love these two dresses. I think the first one is so cute, I love the lace body with the cute little buttons. The whole dress overall is so delicate and pretty, I can imagine wearing this on a lovely summers day, just with tights and cream brogues or even just plimsolls. It’s by Pins & Needles so obviously it’s expensive (£65) but it’s so elegant and sophisicated, I’d be willing to pay that price :) I really adore the second dress, again I think it’s really elegant and sophisticated but it’s a lot more grown up than the first dress, I love the pleated neck and button detailing and I think it could definitely be worn on a night out with black tights (as seen in the photo) and a pair of heels, and then just a bit of jewellery, and it would be the perfect outfit! However, I also think it could also be great worn in the day, with flats and less accessories, I think just a simple satchel and a couple of bracelets would make it so cute. Again, it’s by Pins & Needles so it’s a bit pricey (£48) but still, it’s worth the money for such great quality!
Outfit number three! Denim shirt in size 10 from primark - £10.00 Black leggings in size 8 from Select - £4.00 Will probably wear it unbuttoned with a top underneath, rather than like this, don’t like this
Outfit number two! Wine/burgundy crop top from primark in size 10 - £4.00 Blue leggings from H&M in size 8 - £5.99 Black leggings from Select in size 8 - £4.00 Black hoody from H&M in size 12 - £14.99 Dark brown brogues from primark in size 4 - £10 :)! (I’m also wearing the bandeau top/bra thing underneath, which was size 8-10 from primark for £3.00. Basically just brought it so nobody would see my bra through the arms of the top, and I might wear it alone at some point, with a shirt or something over)
Outfit number one! Blue, pink and cream striped crop top from Primark in size 10 - £4 Blue leggings from H&M in size 8 - £5.99 Black hoody from H&M in size 12 - £14.99 Blue high top pumps in size 4 - £10 :)!
This is everything I bought today: A denim shirt, a black zip up hoody, black leggings, blue leggings, a blue, pink and cream striped crop top, a burgundy/wine colour crop top, a bandeau top/bra, blue high top pumps, dark brown brogues and bleach for my hair, oh and a brown belt which I forgot to put in the picture :) I’ll probably try them all on and take photos later and I might do my hair later.
These are a couple of underwear sets I selected from Topshop, I love cute underwear like this and the first set is absolutely beautiful, it’s alot different to anything I’d usually buy but I really really want this! I like the second set aswell but there no where near as cute, just very simple and lovely :)!
So I picked these out, but I’m not 100% sure. The first ones I will never buy or wear, because they’re £60, and I don’t think I’d know how to wear them, and I’d feel a bit silly, they’re the kind of thing I’d buy if I won the lottery or something because then it wouldn’t matter if I hated them hahaha, same with the third really, they’re just under £30, which isn’t terrible, but I maybe wouldn’t pay that much because I’m not certain I could pull them off, I can pull off animal print leggings easy, but when it comes to something as simple as cord shorts I think I’d look silly, it’s just not really my style and I think I’d feel a bit awkward and self conscious, but you never know, they are still really cute. The only ones I’d definitely buy are the ones in the middle, they’re so so so cute, and I think they’re more my style, you can get them in a bleached colour aswell which are also lovely, but I’d probably just get this colour, they’re £30 and I would love these! ♥
I love this combination, hahaha. I hate wearing jeans or trousers, leggings are my favourite, so I chose these, they’re all just about £20 and so cute! I’ve wanted some velvet leggings for ages so I am definitely getting them, I really love the colour, I also love animal prints oh my gosh, I don’t like it when people go for too many safe options and I like to go crazy once in a while, I think they’d be so cute just with a simple black vest top and some flats and a little satchel, I actually really want these too! I love the crazy aztec pattern ones aswell, they’re really cute and wild and they stand out so much, I think if you wore them with too many accessories or a patterned top they’d look a bit silly but if you just kept it simple, like with the animal print leggings, they’d be so lovely!
(Another boring clothes post) So, these are the jackets I picked, I already have a quilted jacket, but it’s navy and it doesn’t have a cute cord collar, plus I love the colour of this one, it’s really cute, I mean the trend might not still be ‘in’ this winter, but if it is I’ll probably get this because it’s not massively expensive (£55) :) I also desperately want a denim jacket, last time I went to a car boot sale with my mom I was searching and searching but I couldn’t find one, but I found these two on the Topshop website that I like, they’re both over £40 but still, I really love the bleached one and I’m probably more likely to buy that one, but the lilac one is really cute too :)
There’s not a lot to say about cardigans, they’re pretty self explanatory. I just want lots for autumn/winter, and good quality ones too! These ones from Topshop are about £40 each so not exactly cheap, but if I had that kind of money, I’d definitely buy them, I especially love the colour of the first one, you mainly see cream/beige/black coloured cardigans so dark purple is a bit different, and the beautiful cobalt blue one in the middle, I’d probably just wear that with a simple top, black leggings and flats otherwise it might be too crazy. I also love the third, again the colour is lovely and different. They look so warm and scrumptious, I want them now :(
I went through and picked out the tops I most like/want from Topshop. I love them all but the last two are the furthest from my kind of ‘style’, I don’t think the last one would suit me because it’s high neck and those kind of tops make me look a bit butch hahaha, but it is really cute and would look lovely on anyone else, I’d probably buy it if I was feeling naughty. The third is more my style but I’m small so I’d probably look like a huge twat in it, I could probably try and make it work though.. My ‘safe’ options were the first two, I always wear crop tops, and although the first top is high neck, I think the whole lace thing and the tie bit would make me look less ‘butch’ hahaha, and I could always unbutton it a bit, I love the second one, it’s completely my style, I could unbutton it a bit, maybe wear it with a belt round and some knee high socks and boom! Yes, I love that one, a definite buy in the future :)
I love these two dresses (Both from Topshop). The one on the left is very cute and elegant, and it is just so simple, and I think worn with the right accessories, like a skinny belt and some flats and a cute little satchel, it would be beautiful. There’s a huge contrast between the two, but I think the second is beautiful too because it’s just wild and crazy and has so much personality, but it would still look really cute and would be great to wear on a summer’s day, and I think it really stands out from anything else! I want both of them!
